Man is referred to as a social animal. This essentially means that a big part of our identity is derived from the social relations we cultivate. The society in which we live constitutes people from all professions. In order for an individual to grow, he/she needs to achieve more in less time. This is only possible when one knows the art of being in the right place in the right time. It does seem a bit odd, but it works! People use their links to get the works done in seconds that would otherwise take them days, months, or perhaps years to do. Networking connects people to others who can fulfill their needs. Reflection Reflection is a very useful exercise that is increasingly being made use of these days. People are encouraged to reflect upon their experiences on every level. For example, students are given assignments by their teachers in school s to reflect upon their experiences. By making it part of their education, educationalists are encouraging people to make reflection a necessary part of their life. â€Å"The process of reflection is an integral part of teaching practice† (une.edu.au, n.d.).

Explain Descartes skeptical argument according to a prompt Term Paper - 1

Explain Descartes skeptical argument according to a prompt - Term Paper Example The fact that while we are sleeping and still see ourselves in other places doing other things raise a question about dreams. For example, you see yourself in a lecture room attending a specific lecture, but at the same time you are in your bed sleeping. This raises a question of how often we sleep at night You might argue that the brain plays images of events that were recorded during the day. Nevertheless, the images that we see in dreams are not things that occurred in the past are going to happen in the future (Simpsons 67). Thus raising the question where do dreams come from and what do they represent. There are many definitions as to what dreams are and what they represent. Most of the definitions are based on research and religion. Dreams are a sequence of views, pictures and feelings that happen while a person is numb. Dreams occur while asleep because there are parts of the brain that are most active while the body is resting. The process of having dreams is referred to as dreaming. At times, we can have more than two dreams in one night. Conclusions in dreams are not always clear because we wake up while they are about to end. It is said that we all dream, but not everyone remembers his or her dreams vividly (Bryant 2). With this in mind, how then can we explain a person who sleeps walks? Research has shown that sleepwalkers are indeed dreaming. The difference being that the dreams that they have, process communication in the subconscious levels and give messages to other body organs in order to operate them. Descartes says that there are no conclusive signs that show the distinction between being awake or asleep. The difference being dazed only supports the conception that we may be sleeping (Hill 6). In the first meditation, Descartes states that we cannot have knowledge of the external world and our bodies based on the senses. To strengthen his argument, he uses the dream argument. He states that we cannot have knowledge of the external

Critique of the Literature Review Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Critique of the Literature Review - Assignment Example The study sought to investigate the relationship among leadership styles, demographic factors, and confidence in the delegation of duty by registered nurses in a nursing facility. Results identified lack of a relationship between confidence in delegating duties to â€Å"unregistered assistive personnel† and applied leadership style by registered nurses (Saccomano and Pinto-Zipp, 2011, p. 522). The results also noted that fresh nurses with lower academic qualifications reported lower confidence in delegating duties to the unlicensed personnel than registered nurses. This however changed and after years of experience, the nurses with lower qualifications reported higher confidence than registered nurses did (Saccomano and Pinto-Zipp, 2011). The article identified the study’s problem with clarity. Based on its literature review, registered nurses focus on clinical practice but disregard managerial and leadership roles. Previous studies had also not explored the relationship between leadership among registered nurses and their confidence in delegation despite a belief that leadership is significant to the nurses’ ability to manage unlicensed personnel and this knowledge gap informs the study’s problem. The researchers also identified frameworks for their study through the concept of transformational leadership and through the path-goal theory. They defined a relationship between transformational leadership concept and problem, delegation among nursing leaders, and the relationship between the Path-Goal theory and the delegation problem. The theory, the concept, and their proposed effect on an individual’s ability to empower followers and delegate duties to them make the theory and concept appro priate for the study’s problem (Saccomano and Pinto-Zipp, 2011). Reviewed literature was appropriate for the topic and contributed to knowledge development on the topic’s variables. Selected information from the reviewed literature was relevant to the topic and the scope of the  literature’s contents was consistent with the scope of the article’s aim.
